Fire Risk Assessments in Manchester
Following the introduction of the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005, on the 1st October 2006, it is now a legal requirement for the responsible person for all businesses and organisations to ensure that a written fire risk assessment is carried out.
You may wish to carry out this assessment yourself providing you have the necessary experience or qualification, alternatively, Tameside Fire Protection have experts who are affiliated to the Institute of Fire Safety Managers, who would be happy to carry out these assessments on your behalf, all at very competitive prices.
The details of what would be included within Fire Risk Assessments are listed below:
- Fire hazards
- Sources of fuel
- Workplace construction
- Sources of Oxygen
- Means of escape
- Persons at risk
- Fire detection and fire warning
- Means of fighting fire
- Employee training
- Documentation and record keeping
- Fire service liaison
- Additional information
- Significant finding report
- Hot work permits
- Fire log book
The assessment will be carried out over approx 1/2 day on site, and then a further day off site to collate. It will be sent by post usually within 5 working days, and will include photographic support and details of all actions required to bring your site up to the standards required by the RRFSO 2005. All assessments are presented in an easy to understand format and come complete with a significant finding report (where applicable).
Once an initial robust assessment has been carried out and acted upon (where applicable), the document will need nothing more than an annual review by a competent person, unless there are any changes to personnel, processes and procedures, structural changes or following a fire or a near miss, at which point it will need to be reviewed again. Training
